Electrical Panel Repairs and Code Corrections in Acworth, GA

Another successful electrical repair project completed by Hub Pro Electric — this time in Acworth, Georgia.

One of our customers contacted us after receiving an electrical inspection report during the process of selling their home. The buyer had hired an electrical inspector to evaluate the condition of the home’s electrical system, and several issues and code violations were identified that needed to be corrected before closing.

After reviewing the inspection report, our team carefully inspected the electrical system and completed all required electrical repairs and code corrections to bring the installation up to standard.

One of the main issues was located inside the subpanel, where the ground and neutral wires had been improperly terminated together on the neutral bar, and the panel did not have a separate grounding bar installed. Our electricians installed a dedicated grounding bar and properly separated the ground and neutral conductors according to electrical code requirements.

We also corrected shared neutral terminations by separating neutral wires from double-tapped terminal locations and reorganizing the panel connections for safer and more professional electrical distribution.

During the inspection, we identified several hot wires improperly connected under multiple breakers. These wiring issues were corrected, reorganized, and clearly labeled to improve safety and future maintenance.

To improve the electrical connections and prevent corrosion, Noalox anti-oxidant compound was properly applied to aluminum conductors connected under the subpanel breakers.

Several oversized breakers that did not properly match the wire sizes were replaced according to National Electrical Code requirements to ensure proper circuit protection and electrical safety.

We also replaced the surge protection breaker with a properly installed and code-compliant unit to improve protection for the home’s electrical system.

The main electrical panel labeling was reorganized and updated to provide clear circuit identification, improving both safety and accessibility for the homeowner and future electricians.

In the garage, the existing receptacle system was upgraded with GFCI protection, and the additional garage outlets were properly connected under the same protected circuit to meet current electrical safety standards.
