We invite you to explore another one of our recent electrical projects completed in Alpharetta, Georgia. This project involved replacing an existing ceiling fan with a luxury chandelier in a high-ceiling residential property.
From the beginning, this installation presented several unique challenges. The first challenge was the ceiling height, which measured approximately twenty-two feet. This required specialized equipment, advanced planning, and careful safety procedures to ensure a successful installation.
The second and most critical challenge was the weight of the chandelier. Unlike the lightweight ceiling fan that was previously installed, the new chandelier weighed approximately one hundred seventy-five pounds due to its large glass components. A standard ceiling fan electrical box is not designed to support this amount of weight, making a direct installation unsafe and structurally unreliable.
To safely complete the installation, our electricians accessed the attic space and built a reinforced support structure using two-by-four framing lumber. This custom reinforcement system was specifically designed to distribute the chandelier’s weight securely across the ceiling framing.
After completing the structural reinforcement, our team used a rope and pulley system to carefully raise the chandelier into position. While the fixture was being lifted, our technician below secured the mounting hardware and ensured the chandelier was properly aligned and stabilized.
For additional strength and long-term reliability, we used extended structural screws that passed through the ceiling and anchored directly into the reinforced framing inside the attic. This method provided a secure installation while preserving the appearance and integrity of the ceiling.
Once the main fixture was secured, the large glass elements were individually installed, completing a beautiful high-end chandelier installation that dramatically enhanced the appearance of the home.
