Recently, the Hub Pro Electric team was called to a residential property in Alpharetta, Georgia, to troubleshoot a swimming pool lighting system that had stopped working.
The homeowner reported that the pool lights would not turn on and initially believed the problem was caused by failed light fixtures or damaged pool lighting equipment. Based on the information provided before arriving on-site, our electricians suspected that the issue might be related to the lighting control switch.
However, after performing a detailed inspection and diagnostic process, we discovered that neither the pool lights nor the control switch were malfunctioning. Instead, the issue was traced to incorrect settings within the mobile application used to control the pool lighting system. Once the application settings were properly configured, the entire lighting system immediately returned to normal operation.
While completing the service visit, our team conducted a broader inspection of the electrical system to ensure everything was operating safely. During this process, we identified an additional issue inside the electrical panel that could have become a serious safety hazard if left unaddressed.
Our electricians discovered that the breaker serving the pool equipment circuit had a loose electrical connection. Loose breaker connections can generate excessive heat over time, potentially leading to equipment damage, electrical failures, and in some cases even fire hazards.
To prevent future problems, the Hub Pro Electric team immediately corrected the issue, properly secured the breaker connection, and verified that the circuit met electrical safety requirements.
The homeowner was extremely pleased with the thoroughness of our inspection and the professionalism of our team. Not only were we able to restore the pool lighting system, but we also identified and corrected a hidden electrical safety concern before it developed into a much larger problem.
This project serves as a great example of why professional electrical troubleshooting goes beyond simply fixing the reported issue. At Hub Pro Electric, we believe in evaluating the entire system whenever possible to help ensure long-term safety, reliability, and performance for our customers.
The project was completed successfully, the pool lighting system was restored, and the homeowner gained peace of mind knowing that a potential electrical hazard had been eliminated.
