The Hub Pro Electric team recently completed another phase of a residential basement electrical project in Marietta, Georgia, including the installation of a new subpanel, removal of existing electrical wiring, and new lighting work.
This project was completed for one of our long-term contractor clients who specializes in basement remodeling and finishing. We are proud to be the electrical team they trust for their basement renovation projects throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
New Basement Subpanel Installation
One of the primary components of this project was the installation of a new electrical subpanel for the basement.
Adding a dedicated subpanel provides an organized electrical distribution point for the newly finished space and allows the circuits required for lighting, receptacles, HVAC equipment, and other future electrical loads to be properly managed as the renovation progresses.
Our electricians carefully installed the subpanel and prepared the electrical infrastructure for the next stages of construction.
Electrical Demolition and Cleanup
Before portions of the new electrical system could be installed, some of the existing and unnecessary wiring had to be removed.
Our team completed the required electrical demolition, or “demo,” carefully removing old wiring and preparing the basement for its new electrical layout.
Removing outdated or unnecessary wiring during a major basement renovation helps create a cleaner electrical system and makes future troubleshooting and maintenance significantly easier.
New Ceiling Lighting
Several new ceiling lights were also installed and wired according to the project’s electrical plans.
Proper placement and preparation during the rough-in stage are essential because once drywall, ceilings, and other finishes are installed, making changes becomes considerably more difficult and expensive.
Why Quality Rough-In Work Matters
At this stage, the basement is still under construction. The drywall, painting, trim, and other interior finishes have not yet been completed, so the project photos may not look as dramatic as photos of a finished renovation.
However, experienced electricians and contractors know that some of the most important work happens before the walls are closed.
Clean wire routing, properly installed electrical boxes, organized circuits, secure connections, and careful planning during the rough-in phase create the foundation for a safe and reliable electrical system.
Once drywall covers the wiring, much of this craftsmanship will no longer be visible—but the quality of this work will affect the safety, reliability, and serviceability of the electrical system for years to come.
