EV Charger Installation in Sandy Springs, GA

Today’s project took the Hub Pro Electric team to Sandy Springs, Georgia, for another professional EV charger installation.

This time, we had the pleasure of working with a very kind homeowner originally from China who requested installation of an electric vehicle charger on the exterior wall near the garage entrance. However, like many older homes, the electrical panel was completely full and did not have enough available space for the required sixty-amp breaker.

Another challenge was that the garage was fully finished, which made wire routing more difficult. In situations like this, there are usually two possible solutions: surface-mounted conduit wiring, which requires additional material and labor, or opening small sections of sheetrock to allow for concealed in-wall wiring with the homeowner’s approval.

Because surface-mounted conduit installations typically require more material and additional labor time, they also result in a higher project cost. For this project, the customer preferred a cleaner concealed wiring solution.

Our electricians carefully planned the installation to minimize wall damage and completed the entire project with only three small sheetrock openings. To create space inside the electrical panel, we removed four existing breakers and replaced them with one twenty-amp tandem breaker and one fifteen-amp tandem breaker, successfully creating enough room for the new sixty-amp breaker required for the EV charger installation.

The entire project was completed with precision, clean workmanship, and close attention to detail. In the end, the customer was extremely satisfied with both the appearance and the quality of the installation.
